The answer is YES.
We’re right in the middle of Meredith about 2 blocks off the water in Meredith Village. It’s a short walk to the town docks and all local restaurants. On days when parking is hard to come by, we often have a spot. Plan a hike, let us know what you’re up to, we’ll meet you for lunch or dinner. If you’ve got little kids and need a stopping point, let us know so we can be prepared.
We recommend the Inn at Church Landing, it is a 5 minute walk, it is right on top of the town docks, and next to The Town Docks Bar (where Everett is busing tables this summer). We’ve also had friends stay at the Center Harbor Inn and they enjoyed it – further North on NH-25 (8 miles, 5 minutes). Center Harbor is where the Mt Washington is based. The Opechee Inn closer towards Laconia is also great.

Bike Week? The 98th bike week is June 12 – 20, 2021. Our house is in the *middle* of everything, so plan ahead, get groceries, enjoy the crowds.

September: Fall Foliage! We’re not sure of the schedule because the kids’ sports schedules aren’t out yet.
December is usually the first that the snow skiing is open!
Concerts: We’re 15 minutes from the NH Pavilion in Gillford, NH – this summer it hosts Chris Stapleton (7/28 – 30), DMB (7/24-5), Darius Rucker (Aug 27), Toby Keith (9/4), etc.
From Boston, Medfield, MA, Walpole, West Groton, etc. – take 93 North. It’s 2 hours tops.
Airports: Boston Logan (BOS) – 2 hour drive, Manchester NH (MHT) – 1 hour drive. You need a car to get around the area, there aren’t many cabs, there are few Uber/Lyft, and the distances are far.
Things to Do:
Boating on the lake is great – we’ve been using Meredith Marina (2 Bayshore Drive, Meredith, NH) – meeting us there at 8.30 AM is the right way to go most days. (YouTube)
The lakes (Squam, Winnipesaukee & Waukewan are nearby), swimming, fishing, hiking, Mt. Washington (90 minutes), White Mountain National Forest (90 minutes), Flume Gorge, mountain biking at Gunstock, Franconia Notch State Park, Castle in the Clouds (25 minutes), Diana’s Baths is a really easy hike that little kids love for the playtime in the waterfalls (YouTube – 45 minutes away). There are many tourism guides – NH Lakes Region, and Visit NH have great lists of activities. Pemigewasset Valley Fish and Game club is only 25 minutes away.
There are lots of nearby mountain biking, fat biking and snow biking options nearby. Highland Mountain is less than 40 minutes away, Gunstock has a summer biking club, Loon and White Mountain Bike Shop are all nearby.
Snow skiing – We are 30 minutes from Gunstock, 1 hour from Loon, 1 hour from Sunapee, 70 minutes to Bretton Woods and near many others. There are lots of snow mobile areas, fat bike / snow bike opportunities, the Pond Hockey Classic (Feb 4 – 6, 2022), the Ice Fishing Derby (Feb 11 – 14, 2022), and many other awesome cold weather opportunities to stay active in the winter.
If you are new to snow skiing – let us know ahead of time and we can see if any of our gear is useful, or the best way to get skis, snowboards, etc.
